The useful boundary

Restoration can improve a lens. It is not a new assembly.

AAA testing found that restored deteriorated lenses improved measured output but did not match new original-equipment assemblies. That is why the site does not promise new-lens performance or a safety outcome.

01

Start a restoration conversation

When the visible concern is exterior haze, yellowing, or dullness, send clear daylight photos of both lenses.

02

Consider repair or replacement guidance

Cracks, damage, internal moisture, repeated restoration, or severe deterioration deserve an appropriate repair-professional conversation.

General lens-performance context: AAA headlight research and NHTSA lens requirements . These sources do not establish a result for your vehicle.

What to send

Two lenses. Three useful views.

  1. 01Both headlights together

Use even daylight and include the whole front of the vehicle.

  2. 02Each lens close up

Keep the photo sharp enough to show haze, yellowing, cracks, or moisture.

  3. 03Your parked location

Include where the vehicle is parked so mobile availability can be confirmed.

Lens request

Send clear photos of both headlights.

Exterior haze or yellowing may fit a restoration conversation. Damage, internal moisture, or severe deterioration may need a different path.
